I rebooted my brand… AGAIN.
As I sit down to fill out the very first blog post on my new website, you have no idea how much I just want to do the “lazy thing” and copy & paste all the content from my old blog.
I mean, I DID spend hundreds of hours curating all that awesome content… but somehow, it just doesn’t feel right. 🙄
Call it my conscience or call it my pride, but I think a new brand calls for a fresh start.
So you know what I’m going to talk about instead?
Why I decided to reboot my brand… AGAIN.
For those of you who’ve been following along on my journey, you’ll know that I’m prone to trying new things with my brand… probably once every few months. 😅
It might seem confusing for you from an outsider’s standpoint, but for me, it’s been a journey of exploration as I figure out WHO I am and HOW I want to show that to the world.
In the most recent years, I’ve been wearing the hat of a personal brand strategist. I was really proud of the fact that I helped people tackle the big “identity” questions that seems to plague every entrepreneur underneath the sun (and probably most people in general):
Who am I?
What do I want to be known for?
How do I show that to the world?
What if the “business me” is different from the “personal me”?
How do I show up with integrity and STILL attract the right customers (or even get people to like me)?
And while I loved serving my clients with everything from brand messaging & strategy to website design and social media overhauls…
I didn’t realize that I was slowly burning myself out by trying to do ALL of these things for my clients… 😪
Rather than focusing on just doing one thing really darn well.
So in 2024, I’m simplifying a BUNCH of things for my brand to focus on the one thing that I love and know that I can do in my sleep…
Which is brand styling (i.e. visual branding) for brands and entrepreneurs who are just as weird and wacky as me.
They don’t like they typical “clean”, “modern” and “corporate” looks that most brands tend to go for, and they want the way they look to showcase how cool, quirky and nerdy they actually are!
So does this mean that it’s “bye bye” to personal branding forever? 😢
Heck no!!
I’m going to be working on my own personal brand behind the scenes. Strangely, this shift in my business will actually allow me to put even MORE focus on my personal brand because doing this very specific kind of styling for disruptive and rebellious brands like me lines up with my own personal goal…
Of building my brand as an artist and being known for my cutesy-badass style! 🐱
I want to be the next Banksy / Takashi Murakami, and do cool collabs with big brands like Supreme, Superdry and Nike.
I want to see my sh*t all over billboards, and clothing lines, and sell out shows where people travel across the country to see my stuff.
I want to share the message that you CAN be cute and badass. You CAN be kind and firm. You CAN be strong and vulnerable. You can be all these things, because humans have so many layers — but the media usually just paints this one-dimensional picture of what we should be like.
And It feels weird for me to say this…
Because a lot of people I’ve shared this vision with in the world of business has looked at me like I’m crazy.
“So you mean that you’re not looking to hire a team, buy an office and gun to run a million-dollar agency?”
Guys. I’m an artist. I was, and always will be that art kid at heart. I didn’t go into business to manage people… I went into business to do the thing I love for a living.
So if you ask me, my contribution to the planet is to express myself as honestly as I can, and make the world a more beautiful place — one art piece at a time.
And what better way of doing this than to help other brands like me REALLY shine and showcase their difference in a world where everyone’s encouraged to look the same?
THAT… is going to be my contribution! 🔥
So here’s my starting point for this new chapter of my brand — 5 years into my business! I can’t wait to see what awesome things lie ahead, and I’m excited to bring you along on the journey with me.
Thanks for sticking around guys! 💕
Cheers!
